For which nations visa is required?
Up to three months Nationals of Austria, Australia, Azerbaijan,
Belgium, Canada, United Kingdom, Holland, Ireland, Moldova , Spain, Italy,
Israel, Portugal Yugoslavia, can obtain a sticker visa at the border.
Up to one month Nationals of the Commonwealth of Independent States (except,
Kazakhistan, Kyrgyzistan and Turkmenistan), Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia can obtain a sticker visa at border
gates.
For the United States of America a
visa is required. It could be obtained from Turkish
Consulate General Offices at the port of entry into Turkey for
some amount of money.
Nationals of Guatemala can obtain a visa for up to 15 days at the border.
Nationals of Jordan, can obtain a visa at most for 30 days.
Nationals of Indonesia can enter the country for two months by obtaining a visa
at no charge at the border.
Nationals of all other countries require a visa, which can be obtained from the
nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate.

HOSPITALS:
Well-equipped official & private hospitals and regional clinics serve all
patients during the week. Also, some hotels have their own medical services. For
emergency medical assistance and ambulance, you may dial 6141026
(in Kusadasi), to the official hospital.
PHARMACIES: Expressed eczane
in Turkish, pharmacies are open between 9:00 am and 21:30 pm
during the week - except Sundays. Every
night and every Sunday, one pharmacy is on duty.
COMMUNICATIONS: Turkish post offices are
clearly recognized by their yellow PTT
signs. Automatic phone calls, mailing, stamps and phone cards are available in
the post office of Kusadasi, open between 8:00 am and 24:00pm.
PTT telephone cards are the most economic
way to phone in Turkey. While making an international

WATER: Although it is safe to drink, the tap
water in Kusadasi does not have a good taste. So, drinking bottled water

WEATHER: Kusadasi has mild climate.
Summer starts by the end of April and lasts
till the end of October. Even winter has
good temperature in Kusadasi. July is
the hottest month in Kusadasi-degrees up to 42C.
Those who travel around these period are advised to take things for protecting

KUSADASI: Minibuses are the most economical means of transportation,
expressed "dolmus" in Turkish,
both available in and around Kusadasi. The minibus fees change due to the
distances. Taxis

affordable prices.
SHOPPING:
Although Kusadasi looks like a European town, you will find a lot of
things to buy that is typical Turkish such as carpets,
leather-made products, silver,
jewellery, textile,
handmade plates,
small gifts like blue-eye, narghile,
Turkish Delight, apple
tea and more... And also every Friday there is an open
air market in the city center where you can
find vegetables, fruits, clothing and anything you need. With varied shopping
options in Kusadasi, no chance you will have your arms full!

NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES:
Many of the foreign newspapers and magazines are found in big cities and
touristic villages. Also Turkish Daily News and Daily News are published in
English.
FESTIVALS:
Gold Pigeon Music Festival
is a popular contest for amateur and professional Turkish musicians and
interesting with its funny shows and concerts, performed on the last week of June.
The interesting Camel Wrestling Festival
is performed in Selcuk-20km north of Kusadasi, in January
every year. International Izmir Festival is
a sophisticated one, attracted by both participants and visitors in June and
July. Also, the Feast of Assumption at
the House of Virgin Mary is celebrated in August every year.
